We’re seeking a detail-oriented and business-savvy Business Finance Manager to support two growing Vermont-based companies, Accessible Web, a leading digital accessibility software and services provider, and Bytes.co, a full-service web agency. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial professional who enjoys working across multiple teams and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
You’ll manage core financial operations while playing a key role in budgeting, reporting, and decision support. This position is split evenly between the two companies and will work closely with leadership at each organization to ensure strategic alignment and financial clarity.
Location
Both companies are located in the South End of Burlington, VT. Position is hybrid with an expectation of spending 2-3 days in the office each week.

Principle Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Own month‑end close processes: reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
- Manage accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll review, and cash flow tracking
- Coordinate with external accountants on tax filings and compliance tasks
- Maintain up‑to‑date records in QuickBooks Online (or equivalent)
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Develop and maintain rolling budgets and forecasts for each company
- Create and deliver monthly financial reports and KPIs to leadership
- Analyze financial performance, offering actionable insights to guide decision‑making
- Support revenue planning, pricing strategy, and financial modeling efforts
Cross‑Functional Business Support
- Collaborate with department leads on resource planning, vendor analysis, and operational efficiency
- Assist with grant reporting, R&D credit documentation, and financial aspects of strategic initiatives
- Help manage financial elements of client contracts, project scoping, and service delivery tracking
- Participate in quarterly planning and refine internal financial processes
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, or business operations
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and budgeting tools
- Solid understanding of GAAP and small‑business finance
- Excellent communication skills, able to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfortable switching context between two fast‑paced environments
- Must reside in or near Burlington, VT (South End area preferred)
- Bonus: Experience with professional services, SaaS, or agency business models
